Cylinder head mods. Urgent help required!
Hi Guys,
I am in dire need of some help please!
I am retired and know SFA about cars and thought building an 'as book' Locost, with a1300 xflow engine, would be a good way to learn.
Thanks to a lot of books and this forum I have learned a great deal. Some of it quite scary ( especially the thread on wishbones, H.P. Lovecraft; eat
your heart out! ).
PROBLEM: I sent the head away for new guides, seats and valves. It came back with valves like digestive biscuits! The guy said he didn't have
any standard ones in stock so fitted Mexico valves at no extra charge as a favour.
QUESTION: I currently have a32/32 weber and a cam, both from a 1300GT, that I planned to fit to the engine when rebuilding. Is this still feasible,
or do I need to go the throttle body route ( this would be cheaper than fiddling with a weber for me ).
I was looking to build a car with not much top end but quick off the mark ( relatively speaking ).
Sorry to drone on so much.
Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, John.

It'll just "breathe" better, your carb will be fine, it'll probably need tuning up once you're on the road, but with a
none-standard exhaust and airbox it'd need that anyway

AAAAAAHHHH!
He said breathing a sigh of relief.
I was having nightmares about it not running unless I had a hot cam, posh pistons, then a steel crank and forged rods. Then running like a bag of shit
under 5,000 revs!
Thank you so much for that.

It'll be alright as long as you don't try to run it on tea. You might get away without altering anything but the mixture on your carb
but rejetting is always an option with webers.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
