Help ID this engine
Went to my local scrappy today and saw an engine lying on the floor but not sure if its an crossflow or the earlier pre crossflow.
Sorry no pics but the stamped number on the engine is LU6331X and below on a plate is 0HM6015AA and 1.6. Am I correct in thinking this a 1.6
Crossflow. The inlet is on the near side and the exhuast is on the off side. I'll get some pics tomorrow if no one can help.

That means that the head at least, is a Xflow. Pre-Xflows had all of the ports on the same side...
Dont just build it.....make it!

'crossflow' refers to the flow of gas accross the head i.e. inlet on one side exhaust on the other.
What you described is a crossflow engine.
not sure from the description if its the kent crossflow engine though.

standard kent x-flow set upt is intake on off side(driver side) and exhaust on near side (passanger/kerb side) IIRC.
Was the engine over head cam or push rod?

The 6015AA code is for the 1.1 and 1.3 Kent Crossflow engine, the 1600 has 6015BA cast in it.
DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!
