Air box
Hi all Im fitting ZX9 R carbs to my Pinto engine What are peoples view's on the air filter fitment. Would it be better to fit a box with a
remote filter or a sponge air filter, I would prefer to fit a box with a remote filter instead of cutting a big hole in my bonnet. Cheers Jacko

Jacko,
Triton, AKA Mark, does airboxes. Not 100% sure if he does them for your application though. Might be worth sending him a U2U.

Foam filter can cause mixture problems when in direct airflow! No 1 cylinder gets more air than no 4, with 2 & 3 somewhere in between!
Remote mount a filter as low down as possible to get cool air!

only if your engine is 5cc displacement or is travelling at over 200mph. In the real world it will make no difference at all.

Best for what??? Best for noise at SVA and trackdays? - Box. Best for unrestricted airflow? - Filter.
Personally, I'd go with the airbox.
