Temperature Sensor Position?

Is there any prefered position to locate the temp sensor in a xflow installation?

I have 2 options, in the polo rad or in the fiesta elbow return hose conector.

I need to fit the radiator sensor just to blank off the hole but i'm guessing it's safer to sense the engine temperature at the block?

Cheers
Gary

Do you mean the temperature gauge sender unit or the cooling fan sensor? Gauge sender goes into cylinder head and fan sensor can go into rad, Fiesta thermostat housing or into hose joiner in top hose .

Why not use the one in the rad, it is designed for the purpose and means the fan only operates when the rad water is at required temperature , my polo rad has a double temperature switch but i just connected to one of them and it has always worked ok.
