"depends how much its burnt" meeeoooww!
rv8s dont burn oil they turn it into treacle and store it in the rocker covers
paul, if your on the old dizzy driven oil pump i used a non synthetic 15/40 to help with the pressure at low revs

hmmm how do you reckon that?
the haynes P6 book says:
4.5 l without filter change
5.1 l with filter change
I have to agree with the book on this one; I use a castrol gtx 5 l container with side cut out that hasn't overflowed. (The 5.1 includes oil
iin the filter itself.)

Haynes manual for the SD1 V8 says:
oil capacity
drain and refill, sump only - 8.5 pints (4.8L) approx
drain and refill, including filter - 9.7 pints (5.5L) approx
so you should be ok with a 5L container.. just.

Boy, i supose it depends on what the engine cameout of.
Haynes Discovery manual
3.5 V8 5.7litre
3.9 V8 6.7litre
I was playing safe with the colection container size

Cheers..
having already lost 1/2L of oil on my arms and the floor yesterday when I was finging out how tight the sump plug was, ( using an impact wrench that
removed the plug in one second flat ) I will go with the 5L container..

I hate to say it, but that sort of activity sounds all too familiar.
