Fuel Tank advice

Hi guys,

If you were 'attempting' to build your own fuel tank....

What gauge ally plate would you use? 2mm? 2.5mm or 3mm?

Or maybe stronger

Cheers,

Murray

I think my MK supplied ally tank is fabricated from ~1.5mm material and is plenty strong enough. If you go much thicker I think it will be difficult to bend the material into shape - assuming you want to bend it and not just weld flat sections together that is.

thin as you can weld really!

1.6mm sounds a good bet, 1.2 (18 swg) if you can weld it ok.
