sump swarf
Hi,
I've just received my scholar sump, and its full of swarf
Any ideas of how best to clean it out would be appreciated - the baffling creates areas that are impossible to wipe out.
Cheers
Tony

Just stick it on, that's what the oil filter's for isn't it? Is it magnetic so you could use a pickup tool?
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

an air blower would be ideal i suspect. My sump also had a little swarf in it when i came back, i used a jet of wd40 to blow some away, wiped more,
the rest i'll just catch in the filter, hence an oil and filter change in about 100 miles.

is it really worth risking your engine for 20 / 30 mins getting wet with the hose pipe?

Why did they give it back to you full of swarf is the question I would be asking!

When i did phone to ask this morning, i got the answer phone, and as i want to fit it this weekend i've got little choice.
It seems though that other people have had similar problems.

I done the same, in the dishwasher, it sorts of steam cleans it.
Just remember to remove it from the dishwasher at the end. I forgot and was in the dog house for the whole weekend.
