Crossflow Oil Pressure Sender sticking

I am still working towards SVA so don;t run the engine often but most of the time when I trun on the igntion, the oil pressure lamp does not come one. Tapping the oil pressure sender with a hammer fixes that.

So it seems the swicch is sticking.

Does this mean I need a new switch or can I revitalise the one I have by cleaning? (may be bunged up) .

If you take it out and look at the threaded end you may find a hole with mesh in it. If that's clogged up then maybe you could clean it.

If it was my engine, I'd ring Burton Power and get a new one (they're not silly money). It's always good to know that you've got oil flowing!
