zetec starter probs
ok in short, my uncle has a 2L zetec westie that he bought pre built.
its never been a good starter, so we all diagnosed lazy started motor, when we took it into out local auto electrical place we were told its off a
1600 zetec, so we get a 2L starter but its not engaging yet its turning over? any ideas? why and why it had a 1600 starter on it for a start?
type 9 box btw

Not engaging because you need a starter from a 2L DOHC out of a sierra. Also on 1.8 CVH.
(Assume its a type 9 box)

If it's got mappable ignition, worth checking what the cranking advance is. Incorrect advance will lead to problems and failure to turn over.
Been there....done that....
