Pinto oil light
Noticed today that the oil light doesnt come on when I turn the ignition on, but flickers on and off as I turn the engine over , then stays on until I
blip the throttle ,
It's never done this before,
Its a 2l pinto with high pressure oil pump, the oil pressure is good , and there is'nt a loose connection , battery is fine too as its on a
trickle charger each night.
Anybody have any ideas?? should I be worried about it?

Can you check the sender unit or swap it for a known good one? It should come on with the ignition (no oil pressure) so it might be dodgy.
Cheers,
Raz
When thinking outside the box doesn't work any more, it's time to build a new box

Sender.
I had a new one a couple of weeks ago for the same reason, cost a couple of quid and works normal now.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

that'll be a perforated diaphram in the sender unit. Oil leaks passed and messes up the pressure difference= weird stuff happening.
"just like that !"
