hi any suggestions on where to get a prop made and how much to expect thanks andy

theres several thread in the past where loads of prop companies have been mentioned, my local one is burgess prop clinic in bradford, nice chaps and
an acceptable price.

The price really depends on your particular specification for the prop. Try Dunning & Fairbank in Leeds.
They're great guys and good on price too.

ok, maybe that one is more local then the bradford one for me! 
I paid 200 cash for a two part bec shaft. Ive heard it can be done cheaper though.

I paid Reco-Prop in Luton about £125 (was a while ago now) for a balanced prop for a type 9 to a sierra diff so a pretty standard application, i only
supplied them with a prop off a MT75 though so they had to put another splined part on it.
Best to go for someone near to you though as postage would be expensive as you normally have to supply a donor item.

£20 for a second hand prop. Shortened by MK and incorporating a sliding joint.
£120 to Dunning & Fairbanks for the rear section to be replaced with TRT, including balancing and painting.

sorry for the hijack but can you tell me if your trt made much difference Hellfire.
my props (2 as I have reverse ) cost me 200 but I wouldn't recommend the guys.

Props
All parts are available new for common applications (Ford), with circlip uj`s.
Often a new shaft is only a little bit more than a shortened reconditioned shaft.
Dunning and Fairbank get my vote (I used to work there) but any prop firmshould beable to supply.

To be honest, the difference it makes isn't noticeable, other than when selecting first gear from neutral. The usual 'ding' is
replaced with a reassuring 'clunk'

I found dunning and fairbank the best place to deal with when i got mine last month. 120 quid delivered IIRC. Not only for the price but the most
helpfull and friendly.
For type 9 to live axle.
