tdc and springy cam

Ive just replaced the cams and set the engine to tdc, i adjusted the angle of cam with spanner so end matched the top of head then came to adjust other cam so end matched top of head when i adjusted it it just sprung back to previous angle which is approx 10-15 degrees from matching horizontal head angle and therefore i cant fit alignng tool in.
Can anybody help? im completely baffled by this?

Zetec cams will spring back due to how the cam lobes sit on the valves.. U have to hold the cam when u slide the plate in. U will only have to hold one cam.
