Which uprated cams for a Toyota 4AGE 16V?

Hi,

I'm looking to put uprated cams on my Toyota 4AGE 16V, has anyone uprated the cams and if so which did you use please?

Looking forward to an answer to your question too as I'd like to do the same soon. RAW's track pack 1 @ £500 (ish) sounds a bit steep but I know is good for 160-170 bhp!

I've seen TRD cams on e bay too but again quite pricey (no idea what they are like though). Larkspeed are the cheapest I've seen Kent cams, but I don't think they provide quite as much power as the RAW ones.

Personally I had good results from HKS 272 deg cams. Not too aggressive so you need lots of head work to fit and still very driveable on the road.

The kit is a little optomistic to reach 150+BHP IMHO but possible with head work, TBS/Carbs and a programmable ECU.

Maybe consider the Blacktop 20V 4AGE. Lightened internals & flywheel plus 4 x ITBs, 150BHP as standard. The engine would cost about the same as the Trac Pac and you can use the ancillaries from the 16V. Still needs a ECU to get the best from it though.

If you can wait then I'm currently assembling a Silvertop 20V 4AGE + Rotrex supercharger. I don't like to talk figures without proof but having spoken to TTS Performance my aim of between 200-250BHP wasn't seen as excessive!

I'm using Toyota parts to keep costs down including the standard high compression pistons. I will have the head flowed while its apart to save tearing it down again later though.

RAW are helping me with the mounting brackets so they may be able to offer a kit in the future.
