Sump plug

Just found that the oil leak i have been looking for for a few weeks now is comming from the sump plug!!

Reading some old posts i see that there is supposed to be a plastic sealing washer in there somewhere which i don't think mine has. I cannot see it and don't remeber putting one on. Is it obvious??

Pinto BTW

Bit worried now about getting the thing out as it is half ground down by speeb bumps and there are many posts regarding how hard it is to get out at the best of times

Thanks for the help

Rupert

I have a copper washer on mine (Zetec) - I would imagine a washer is needed.

As for undoing - just go carefully, make sure the spanner/socket has a firm grip and try to use a sharp cracking motion rather than lots and lots of leverage.

Good luck

PS for you your best local supply of pretty much everything service stuff-wise is CAS (Central Auto Supplies) on the perimeter road in Hinckley, opposite tesco warehouse. They are open till 6 in the week.

ps ps has your dad still got the 2.8i capri?

I thought cal had moved to bosworth? What are you both upto these days.

My Email is Rupertkenefeck@hotmail.com is you would rather chat on there than on these random post.
