EBAY rant
Just need a rant.
have now been pipped on ebay for the 6th time on some carbs buy pennies.
does anyone else get annoyed by this??

It is a pain in the arse! Also annoying is when you bid on something then find another for much less - no one outbids you on these occassions!
Grrrrr...
As a seller, it is also annoying when decent things (I mean rare parts) sell for peanuts, but crap run-of-the-mill stuff sells for lots more than it
should. It makes me regret vetting so stringently stuff to keep for selling on ebay.
If at first you don't succeed, hide all evidence you ever tried!

Pah! I can get a bid in in the last few seconds manually! Much more exciting!
If you come second you'll always only be pipped by a little (1 increment or even less). If you keep loosing you need to bid more - simple as
that! Don't matter how close to the end of an auction someone gets their bid in, if your bid was higher you win.
Simple.

I think many people miss this simple point and get annoyed by how they are continualy beaten by small amounts.
The simple answer is to bid what the item is worth to you if you really want it. Putting small bids on items on the off-chance that you will get a
bargain is fine, but if you want to win something that other people are interested in you have to be prepared to pay for it.

I know what you mean.
I put a lighting unit on Ebay, normally selling for £750, thought I would be happy to see £500, I got £31 ! Now that's what I call a learning
curve. 
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

I put in what's its worth to me when I see it, and then don't look at it again! If I 'win' (ie buy) it - then fine, if
not....
Just put in the most you are prepared to pay for it and don't try to get things cheaper than they should be - or similarly get carried away with
bidding and 'winning'...
