Rolling road in Essex?

I will need my MBE ecu mapping sorted out very soon (when I finally get my driveshafts ) I would prefer getting it on a rolling road as I really don't fancy hooning round some industrial estate to check the map (especially as I havent checked out the brakes properly yet )

Is there a GOOD rolling road mapper in the area, hopefully with V6 Duratec knowledge?

I know what you mean about their attitude I took a set of injectors down there to get them tested - I was told they might TRY to fit them in .... but it would cost me £100 to test them!

I'll give them a call on Monday - I could do with a laugh

I just Googled and found http://www.engine-advantages.co.uk - has anyone any experience with them?

Trouble is that just about anyone can buy a cheap dyno and a laptop and call themself a tuner.

Engine advantages is in whitham, Paul Hills is the owner,he is a very acomplished engine builder ( mainly cosworths and turbo's) and has a rolling road set up to handle 2wd and 4wd up to 650 bhp.
I have used EA loads and have been to countless rolling road days with the Essex RS owners club.
Track and Road is on the old/new a13 interchange just before Purfleet.
Terry is well known for setting up and detailed mapping of race and rally cars. T&R only have a 2wd rolling road and is very long winded, but very thorough, Terry will spend as much time as is needed to get it spot on, leading to some very late nights.
Hope this has been of some help.

Excellent info there forrest

I must admit I am leaning towards EA simply because they specialise in rr tuning so they must have learned a few tricks. I am not sure they will have any experience of my particular setup but a phone call should clarify that.
My MBE has a base map installed and the engine will run (but very very badly) and I suspect a cockup has been made somewhere (either ecu loom or coil pack) so I am hoping they will have the neccessary diagnostic prog to sort it out properly.

Ok here's a dilemma:

I have spoken to Engine Advantages, LPS and another mystery guy down in Rainham. I explained my setup - basically a standard 2.5litre V6 Duratec with the 'go faster' SVT inlet manifold & larger injectors.
Everyone said 'no problem' and gave me a budget price for complete mapping session on their rolling road.

EA wanted £50 deposit on booking (bit cheeky I thought) and estimated £350 total cost.
Mystery guy said £400 and LPS said £200!

I realise that this is a 'how long is a bit of string' estimation but how can LPS be half the cost? What costs have you guys had in the past?

Hi good rolingroads are usualy charging £75 ph. So your £200 pound gets you 2.6 hrs which is far to short a time for mapping an ecu properly.

One other thing to consider is can you actually get your car on to thier roads as lots of people have turned up for rollingroad sesions at various places only to find thier cars are to low and they ground out when the car is on the rollers and your car looks quite low.

cheers matt
