R1 can on a pinto

Hi,

This may be a silly question but is it ok to fit an r1 exhaust can to a pinto?

Cheers

Paul

I was discussing the same thing with a mate at Donnington at the weekend
We are going to try my R1 can on his 2L pinto luego in the next couple of weeks to see if we can make it quiter.
Our concern wasn't being noisy more if it would restrict an engine twice the size
P.S My car was measured at Donnington at 95.8db @ 7200rpm standard carbon R1 can.

Cheers Dave...................

The Max Power brigade have done it in the past.

Probably does nothing for performance but you can hear it coming from a miles, until the 1L clio finally reaches you!

lol

If hes talking about a standard R1 can and not a race can in theory it should be quiter?
A standard R1 can on a bec is a lot quiter than say an Mk silencer

Think our standard MK system was 96Db on the SVA and 103 on a Track Day at Elvington, although they made me rev it to 4500+ which is a bit high for a pinto as they supposedly max at about 5500!

Although we passed, think it was more the 165 70 R13's or whatever they were off the donor that were causing the most noice, Gr8 cheep fun tho!
