Think it should be.

I know my manta 2.0 GTE had a gertag ( nice box ) that why my V8 is mated to a BMW getrag !!!

should be an adjuster for the clutch top right going through the bellhousing 19mm lock nut with a 8mm square adjuster ?

regards

No, the 907 engine won't fit the manta 1800 getrag box, but the 2.0 ohc and XE 16v engines both will!

the 907 used a ZF in the lotus sunbeam .

and a maxi derived garbage in the elite .

a getrag was used behind it in the jensen , those are quite rare .

ps, box is Getrag 240, which is the same in terms of internals as several of the smaller BMW boxes (older 3 series 5 speeds) but the bellhousings are cast-in on all of them so you need the right gearbox front casing to fit the engine you have.

The bigger getrags like the ones used on Jags and the 265 box used on senators and monzas etc have detachable bellhousings.

That 18 OHC box is good for an vauxhall 20XE 16V engine.

The 2.0E 8V getrag as far as I know the same box with only a different pattern of bolts at the bell-house. (doesn't fit on the 18 OHC or 2.0 16V DOHC )

yep, exactly right, same box but different front casing, in fact you can swap the front casings over, so boxes from the old 2.0 CIH engine make good units to donate their innards to 1800 ones broken behind 2.0 16v XE engines (I got through 3 in my manta!!!!)

635's manuals also had getrags fitted ( with the detachable bellhousing - ps the buggers are rare as rocking hourse poo ) also 1 of the 535 that were produced for about a year also had a Detachable bellhousing.

I know beacuse I am using the 635 one ( better 5th gear ratio ) and have the 535 unfortunatly the 535 one is slightly longer in the body of gearbox ( but a usable spare ).

Both mine are dog leg 1st but the other reason I went down the BMW getrag route is that the gear leaver is remote and thus can be modified so it can be mounted in the right possition in the car.

The Getrag in my GTE was excellent cluchles gearchanges were a pice of wee seem to remeber having to use expensive gearbox oil though.

PS one on ebay at the moment

Linkey Ebay Manta Box
