711M Xflow block - imperial threads?
All (esp Jimmyjoebob)
Does anybody know what kid of threads are tapped into the Xflo block for things like engine mounts etc. Im building an engine which didnt come with
ancillary bolts, and could do with knowing whether they are BSP, UNF, UNC or whatever..
Any ideas??

Mostly UNC, apart from things like the oil pressure sender (NPT, I think - best check that one).
A/F spanners will be required...

As David says mostly UNC although the exhaust studs and the inlet stud use a UNF thread on the outer end

they are 5/16 UNC into the block, the other end is whatever you like within reason normally 5/16 UNF but no reason why you couldn't go
metric with 8 mm if you could find them, just make sure you use the correct nut/nyloc

Please don't use a nyloc on an exhaust manifold!
Brass nuts are best - they don't sieze.

I'm glad you asked that question... that's a job that I'll have to do in the very near future!

Hope to turn up spacer between the steel crank pulley and the trigger wheel , bolt to a spare crank and weld spacer to pulley . After fitting the
sensor will drill the trigger wheel in perhaps 3 unequally spaced points that will be beneath the thick washer and use roll pins to locate wheel to
pulley and usinga longer bolt to hold it all on .

This answer is way past its sell-by date - but it's 7/16" UNF! (Guess who's been working on his pulley today...)
I've just made my spacer - just waiting for Namrick to supply me with a longer bolt.

Your right about the crankshaft pulley bolt being 7/16"UNF but suspect the one I measured has stretched . It should be 0.437" diameter .
Will be making spacer etc hopefully this weekend.

If you got your toothed wheel from the same place as me then you may have to be "creative". Mine came with a bore of 1/2" that
rattled on the 7/16" bolt - as the gap between the wheel and the sensor is quite small I decided to improve matters by boring the hole out to
3/4" and machining a step on the spacer to match - now there's no rattle.
