Most rad fan switches use the same thread and have the operating temperatures on the side . Your local motor factors should be able to help

ok thanks got another question the thermostat housing for the x-flow from the fiesta has a screw thread in the top is this where the rad fan switch
goes or is it separate from the temp sender as i already have a temp sender in side of engine for water, bit confused (doesnt take much i know)

Usually the temp sender is separate from the rad fan switch but it depends on your setup. The popular choice is the Polo rad which has a fan switch
installed. This is apparently able to switch the fan directly (I would personally use a relay)
Your temp sender in the engine block will probably just be connected to your temp gauge or possibly the ecu.

the temperature sender will give a varying resistance to cause the deflection in the needle of the temperature gauge.
the rad switch will switch on or off, to switch the fan on or off.
if you have an M22 tapping in your radiator for a fan switch, a switch for a cavalier (think they were very similar on all models 81-95) will switch
full fan current so you don't need to worry about a relay.
if there's not an M22 tapping, you'll need to get a top hose adaptor type arrangement, or a kenlowe one that has a bit that slips under
the edge of the top hose into the water.

im assuming this one here about half way down page
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/SVCFANS.HTML
is one of the ones that slip under the top hose, there is no hole in rad as its plastic so will either have to be one like above or top hose adaptor.
but would prefer not to have relay that means harder to wire
