If you beleve the tag is acurate then its a 3.92 LSD

is it a 7" or a 7.5" ?

does it have bolt on driveshafts / rear discs ?

If that number is correct then it is ideal for your Zetec / type 9. It a 3.92 LSD!. Let's hope it's not knackered!

Bolt drive shafts are Lobro's.... I like 'em! Actually what am I saying, the bolts keep on coming undone....

Splined driveshafts are a little harder to fit because you have to swing the upright onto them. Lobro driveshafts you just bolt in place... Not sure there's any difference re how much power they'll take....

Lobro's (bolt on) are a bit stronger than the tripode (push in type) but a bit heavier

also the lobro type come with rear discs as standard (altough you get adapters for the other ones)

I asume its a 7" diff ? (ie. 2 long bolts through the front instead of 4 short ones screwed into the front)

it sounds like your axle has come form a 2.0 XR4x4 (or a 2.0 with the expencive LSD option)
of course this assumes that the tag on the diff is accurate - but you wont know untill you test the LSD or take the back off the diff

Did you fit the little lock washer things ? (old ones tend to rot away to nothing)
