Fuel Line

Anyone know if it matters whether an in-line fuel filter goes before or after (carb side) the pump? This is with a standard XFlow mechanical pump.

Also - how much flexible tube will the SVA man want to see between rigid pipe and engine. Obviously the engine is moving on its mounts. Should I put a small loop in it?

I have an inline filter between the tank and the pump, and then another in the engine bay before the carb.
