timing
how do you set timing on engine when removed the vacuum advance and fitted twin sidedraught carbs ?ie know its turning dizzy just dont know how far
and which way???

Hi you need a modified dizzy from some were like H&H ignitions or a megajolt to replace the dizzy. ask mookaloid he has a link how to mod the
old dizzys

On my crossflow (from 23 years ago), insde the distributer is a weight driven centrifugal advance which is attached to the external vacuum.
Remove the vacuum part and put a self tapper to join the two plates.
You should now get just centrifugal advance. Check that the self tapper does not go through too far or it will foul the weights.

I would expect they are similar. Just take the distributer apart and find out. All you want to end up with is the small amount of advance/retard
provided by the weights.
I am sure you can figure out how to stop the vacuum advance working !
