against:
- fewer supply of MT75s VS type 9 therefore more expensive.
- Heavier and more cumbersome than a type 9
- replacements (Gaskets, etc) are more expensive

For:
- might withstand more powerful engines than type 9 (dont know for sure).

I believe it can take more power.

in addition to above:
it has an integral bell-housing making it awkward to use with anything except a Ford engine.

MT75 Pros:
Stronger than a T9
Supposedly better shift quality
It might come free with your donor!

MT75 Cons
It physicaly larger than a Type 9, a bit of a squeeze in the tunnel of a book chassis but can be done

Integral bellhousing means you are limited to bolting it onto Ford engines unless you make an adapter plate or chop the entire casting apart.

Limited tuning/upgrade options.

I thought it was lighter being an alloy case ?

Will handle lots of power and is very easy to move the gear lever.

Price is often the same as a type 9 if not cheaper.

imho

hi I have used the mt75 in my build for a few reasons, 1 it's what was in my kebab and
2, the first reason below \/

pro's - Dead easy to move the gearstick back so it's not under the dash.
Has an electronic speedo drive as well as cable
can take higher power than a type 9

con's - it's quite a bit wider than a type 9 so tunnel needs to be wide enough??
It's heavier than a type 9
Its not as upgradeable as a type 9
my prop shaft had to be spot on in length as it doesn't have the sliding input on the box like the t9
If your using it on a pinto you'll need a modified clutch release bearing. (not that cheap)

HTH john.
