fitting a type 9 to a escort xr3i cvh

hey

i want to fit a type 9 gearbox to escort xr3i (flywheel with crank position sensor)
I want to use the original flywheel becaus of the crank position sensor

Witch clutch assembly and thrust bearing do i need to use?

have a look at http://www.sylva.co.uk/technical/cvh.htm thing the best way may be re-drill the existing flywheel and fit the 1800cvh clutch/release bearing

You might not need to redrill the flywheel

ISTR that latter Xr3i have a bigger clutch than the XR3 and other CVH engines ---- in which case the Sierra clutch pressure plate may bolt straight on.

If not compare the clutch part numbers with those used on Zetec conversions (the CVH is closely related to the Zetec.)

If you are going to redrill why not use a 190mm clutch as used on the 1300 & some 1600 Sierra and the Xflow -- more than up to the job and has a lot less rotational inertia.
