Which Radiator 2.0 Pinto
I have a 2.0 Pinto in my donor sierra and it is clear that the radiator is miles too big.
Please could someone sugest a good one to look out for in the scrap yard?
It seems fairly obvious to me that overheating could be a problem with a big engine (2.0 or more) in such a small car with not much space for a
radiator.

Vince,
I'm using a Polo rad in my car (V8). As yet untested, but works ok apparently. Do a search on here and find a link to the Westfield forum.
It's what was recommended there, and having watched 5 episodes of "A Race Car is Born" with Mark Evans last night, spotted his rad
is identical to mine (including the sly use of the Sierra fan switch fitted into the polo rad!!)
Evans was using a 1.8 Zetec IIRC

Polo 1.0 1983-85 bought from Serck Intertruck part SER2719517 £40 brand new, should be able to handle Pinto easy (fitted to 200+ BHP cars) with
9-10" fan. Serck Intertruck have branches all over so have a look in Yell pages. Fits inside MK nose...Just.

No, mixture of Samco flex and angled hoses, 3/4" standard heater hose and 35/22/15mm copper plumbing tube. Best bet with Samco stuff is to have
a ring round for best prices, other stuff just down your local High St.

I have a K10 micra rad fitted to mine - it looks awful small, but everyone here seems to swaer by them. A mate in the rad trade says he will make me a
multiple core one if it overheats - Bloody ideal!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

mine came out of a volvo - dunno which type - poss a 240.
a visit to a scrappy will allow you to measure and select something to your needs. The polo seems popular tho.

I've seen a few Volvo 440's in the scrappy Steve and they have an admirably small radiator. I'll probably get meslf one of them when
the time comes.

Simon, Westfields use the Polo rad in pretty much everything EXCEPT the V8 variants. The V8's use a custom built rad which was specially made
for Westfield, and even these rads struggle to keep things cool. So unfortunately I doubt the Polo rad will be up to the job.
But if it will fit under your nose cone Vince, a Polo rad will be more than adequate....
Dont just build it.....make it!

Thanks guys. Looks like it's a polo then.... or the volvo depending upon what cars he has in and the looks of the rads when I get in there.
