Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with Davis engineering doing an inspection?
Long story short, I started a build before the new policies around radically modified vehicles. The car has a complete unmodified chassis, which I
presume is what the DVLA want to check.
They have told me I need to book an appointment with 'Davis engineering', it also says 'Our provider offers a fully mobile service, and
whenever possible, they will visit your home to carry out the examination'.
What should I expect as part of the examination, is it literally to check VIN numbers and make sure the chassis is original?
Thanks

Hi,
I had an inspection (2 actually) when I converted my Locost to electric. Both times a nice fella came out and looked at the car, took lots of photos
and said he is required to submit a report to DVLA, but he doesn't make any decisions. With a Locost or similar it seems a bit of a strange
process because he wouldn't necessarily know whether the chassis was modified or not, but it seems it's a standard process.
So to answer your question yes, but he's basically there to collect evidence to pass on to DVLA. Or at least that's what happened with
me.
Hope that helps!
