Fuel tank sender continuity ?

Hi peeps, The fuel tank sender in my tank keeps loosing continuity over a period of a few months, this can be cleaned up each time by removing the sender from the tank but am getting tired of keep doing this, is there a grease or something that can be put on the mechanism inside the tank ?

Cheers
Jason

Is it not worth just replacing the sender? New sensors (depending upon type) cost from as little as £20...!
