Hi, i bought a set of smiths telemtrix gauges and sendors, all work(fuel and oil) except water temperature gauge. The gauge has 3 feeds - earth,
sensor and ign. The other gauges work so i assume the earth and ign are fine as there in parallel so must be the sensor wiring or sensor itself
right?. Now the sensor has only one connector, should there also be an earth as the pipe it is in is insulated with silicone hoses at either end. If
it doesnt matter has anyone got any other thoughts?
Cheers

yep the body of the sender would normally go to ground.
go to the website, www.caigauge.com, wiring instructions are all on there
It should have feed from gauge to sender then sender to earth. So you need to earth your sender body.
Ok thats great il try a ring connector between the sensor and water pipe then attach it to a solid earth.
