Trailer board material
andylancaster3000 - 20/3/12 at 12:23 AM

I'm looking to make my own trailer board as I have all the bits and ones long enough are actually quite expensive.

Does anyone know where you can buy the white hollow plastic board from? Alternatively something else nice and cheap that would do the job?

Homebase or B&Q - white plastic soffits ( I think that's what they're called - plastic planks behind and below your gutters)

+1 for road work barriers. I've made a few from them. I've also made a couple from 1.6mm sheet steel folded so the lamps are protected, then powder coated.

Or just use some 6-8mm plywood? Presumably no where to direct mount them?

Thanks for the ideas all. Can't seem to find quite the right stuff from soffit material - any links?

Can you buy those barriers rather then employing illegal means!

I bought a couple from HSS Hire. Paid cash and I'm sure the cash didn't go near the till....

I have some offcuts of soffit material but a bit too far for you to pick up. Cheaper to buy local I would think. Cheers Ray

That's because you don't want a piece of soffit, you want a piece of facia. The soffit is the horizontal bit underneath.

HTH.
