Sat' butty meet manchester?
adithorp - 5/3/11 at 10:53 AM

I'm sat a work this morning with not a lot to do, so wondered if there'd be an interest in a once a month Sat' morning get together. Probably first sat' of the month (April through Sept?).

There's plenty of parking here. The workshop and ramps are usually empty (on a Sat) if anybody wants to tinker with anything. The brew machine is always on and there's a good butty shop just 100yards away.

We're in Stalybridge, east of Manchester. There's plenty of decent roads nearby, so suits either an early morning blat or post butty cruise (Peak District roads can be quieter on Sat than Sun' as the day tripers aren't about).

What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea Adithorp - but what about all the southerners - won't they feel left out ..... for a change

Like it, but it will have to warm up a bit before I'm tempted out that far, also still gathering confidence in "The Car I Built" not falling to pieces under me.

Who cares!

You sure you're not from down south?

I'll put the first one down for 2nd April then.

Maybe I am a southerner, maybe I'm not.

I went a mere 6 miles on the motorway for the first time with it 3 days ago - there was an icy 7/8 mph crosswind which kept me down to 55 / 60 miles an hour - the missus closed her hat, hood and scarf over her face completely! - 57 miles each way (by motorway) I won't do in these conditions - that's all I'm saying.

Now I've said that - I work 12-hr continuous shifts and:

april 2nd - working
may 7th - Off
June 4th - working
july 2nd - working
aug 6th off
sept 3rd - off in aft ( follows my last nightshift).

So by the time May comes along, it'll be much more enjoyable (hopefully!) so I will most likely see you then, Adithorp etc?

There's no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong clothes.
