Ok folks, thought I'd start this one off rather than leaving it to David!
Does anyone fancy meeting up soon - perhaps for a little jaunt and a coffee / breakfast? My suggestion is for an early Saturday or Sunday morning,
now that the evenings are drawing in.
Rich
Yep
I'm up for it.
Time and place and I'll be there.
I've been trying to think of a venue for something along these lines myself.
So far drawn a blank.
Any ideas Rich?
Absolutely - if it's within range, and not peeing down!
David
I am going to a Tiger race meeting on the 9th Sept (week on Sat) if anyone fancies it??
Good blast out and always better with a purpose. Again, will depend on weather.
Mark.
Also, should have mentioned there is a Tiger meet tonight at North Fambridge (near Maldon) if anyone fancies it.
Let me know if you do and I can give you address details etc.
Mark
Shall I take that as a no then??
Usual apathy then.....
I don't think people around our way like driving their cars....
I think they must just go into the garage and admire them from time to time.....
I've SORN'ed the Libra due to a very busy schedule and lack of MOT Certificate.
I'm off to sunnier climes for a week on Monday
Is anyone free next weekend (Sat or Sunday morning) but obviously subject to the weather being OK too? How about a drive to Mersea, Shotley or
similar via the back roads - I don't fancy the A12 that's for sure as I spend too much of my time on it already?
We need to find a greasy spoon that's good for a mid morning breakfast or coffee. Anyone else got any ideas as to a venu where we can meet up
at?
Rich
I know a couple of other's who are up for it subject to date, etc.
Gt Bently is work a blat to on a Wednesday, (along with the Bikers). There was a lovely V8 Dax Rush there this week.

See you when I come back , if the meets after the 11th will see you then.
Shotley's good for me... but define "next weekend"! Do you mean 'tomorrow or Sunday' or 7 days further on!

I spoke to Rich on the phone and the suggestion was the w-end of 9th 10th I believe.
I'm up for either Shotly or Mersea or to throw another into the pot, how about Heybridge basin? The Ship or the other pub that I can never
remember the name of.
Sunday is generally best for me but I could make either I guess.
I'd love to join you all, but assuming I pass my SVA on Friday 8th, It will be another week before I'm on the road.
Steve.
The morning of Sunday 10th would suit us best - Sats are usually v busy.
Thinking about Shotley - the views are good, and the road is nice, but there are stupid speed limits almost all the way along (and wrinklies who stick
to them).
David
So it's next Sunday the 10th then subject to the following;
a) It ain't raining (call me soft if you like)
b) My fuses decide not to blow or I can track down the fault before hand (no luck so far though)
c) Can't think of another reason at present!
Destination =
1) Shotly
2) Mersea
3) Maldon / Heybridge
Vote please for your favourite. Where are we teeing off from? I can do great coffee if needed.
Rich
Note been to Maldon lately so that get's my vote!
Maldon would be good - but every time I've been there it's been a real pain to park anywhere other than the pay-and-display on the high
street.
David
I live in Maldon, there are a few good pubs around - the ferryboat inn at North Fambridge (about 10-mins further on), Wickham Bishops, Heybridge Basin
(not sure on the parking though) etc etc.
I am at Brands on the Saturday if anyone fancies it and then should be around on Sunday as well - weather permitting.
Mark.
That's one big advantage of Shotley - there's a HUGE free car park down by the marina.

I might actually be able to make this one ! (Weather permitting). My preference would be Maldon as it's closer but could also do Mersea - as long
as there are a few petrol stations along the way!
Sorry about this guys but after all I've said I now find that I can't make Sunday
Thats the bad news. (well for me at least)
The good news is, the reason I cant make it is that I'm off to Rome for 4 nights.

There ain't arf been some lucky B******s, lucky bleeder, lucky bleeder.........
Rich
Would love to join you all but is my wedding aniversay so not a chance and wouldnt dare to ask the wife.
Maybe next time.
Cheers and have a good day out.
would love to join you
but just blown my engine up !
so now spending every spare minute trying to get another here and get it fitted !
looks like mine will be a winter bec !
good job ive just fitted a screen !
So guys - who's coming, what's the location and what time??
The weather appears that it should be fine.
Mark.
I can do Sunday morning.
Any of the locations previously mentioned will be fine, although having gone through Heybridge yesterday some good directions would be an advantage!
Order of preference for me would be:
Shotley
Mersea
Maldon/Heybridge
Perhaps the 'organiser' ought to make the decision?
David
Sorry to say chaps but it looks highly likey that I'll be on my way to Taiwan on Sunday (for work reasons) but this should be confirmed
tomorrow!

So in the likely event that I'm on a plane, would anyone else like to take over organisation of this run?
By the way, Gt Bentley Green on a Wednesday evening 6.30-8.00 ish sees a few kit cars present along with the bikers and it would be good to see more
kits cars there too.
I counted 3 Velocitys (inc' mine) a Westfield, Cobra, V8 Dax Rush (lovely) + 2 hot rods. 100's of bikes. With outside bar & food
stalls. Can't be bad eh?
Rich
P.S. I wonder how many kit cars there are in Taiwan or part suppliers? They didn't seem to be aware of Kit cars the last time I was there.
OK...
In the absence of any other proposal, if I turn up at Shotley Marina at around 10am Sunday, would there be anyone else there?
MAP
It's a really nice drive from Colchester, through Ardleigh, Manningtree & Holbrook.
There is somewhere to grab a cup of coffee nearby.
David
So... is anyone interested?
Quiet here...
..all gone home?
David
Sorry David, other pressures mean the Libra is non-MOTed and SORNed (nothing important, I'm just taking the opportunity to stagger the MOT and Tax from our other cars). I can't see that the drive to Shotley would be very exciting in the Multipla, Transit or Saxo so we won't be joining you. At least I've got an excuse.....
Well, we're going anyway!
My wife and I are just going out for a morning's drive... if there's anyone else there then that's a bonus.
DJ
Hi David
Looks like the weather should be good for you. Pity there is such a poor response. I'll be thinking of you on my way to Heathrow....I know
where I would rather have been!!!!
Rich
Well, we went, and the weather and scenery was wonderful!
Don't worry - it all went flat once several people said that they couldn't make it - but I decided that I was going there anyway.
Unfortunately I had decided to muck around with the ride height the day before, and ended up with a fair amount of toe-out instead of straight-ahead.
Every time I went round a corner at 20mph there was a loud squeal of tyres and I sounded like a real hooligan!
Before anyone says anything,
it's now fixed...
David
And to think I went out this morning looking for someone to play with!
I ended up at Diss at the Robin Hood Club meet. Nice bunch. I'll keep a
closer eye on this forum in future!
Hopefully off for another blatt this afternoon! Nearly 1500 miles since SVA on 13th June YEEEHAWW!
Cheers
Jon
