Myself and son are booked into Bookatrack's trackday at Rockingham April 6th.
Have never done Rockingham before, the infield looks quite good.. (any driving tips appreciated.)
Anyone else for a "Day of thunder"
Open pitlane, 103db, a bit pricey at £225, (we're sharing, and there's no extra cost for a second driver.)
Bookatrack's website
One of my favorite circuits Rockingham, you will love it,its a bit

if its wet on the banked oval when your a few inches from a big concrete
wall, but the infield Int sportscar circuit is fantastic, smooth and quick, great for spectators too,you can see the whole track from the top of the pit
garages,I will not even try to give you tips on driving it,as Ive watched some of your video's
,just a top tip,get there early and get a pit
garge,1st come 1st serve, then your straight onto pit lane. And take your car off your trailer before you get to the long tunnel which goes under the
track, drive your car through it at full chat, great fun

,then walk back and fetch your tow car

Nobody fancy Rocky then..

Had a hell of a day at Rockingham, yesterday. The weather was just so kind to us it was unbelievable. Most folks I spoke to had tales of battling
through snow to get there, but the weather at Rocky remained dry, and sunny all day. Bit on the cool side, but no complaints..
My first visit to Rockingham, and have to say it was much better than I'd expected. I thought the infield may be a bit micky-mouse, but was
surprised at the amount of gradient they've built in. Some blind corners after a rises etc..
The banking was a bit daunting at first, the concrete walls look (are!) very unforigving!
Dont think I managed the banked left hander absolutely
flat all day, but a few times I got through with just a slight ease of the instep.
The car was pulling 7000rpm in fifth going into the braking
point, think it's around 130mph! fast enough for me thankyou!
Cocked up the video,
we got a couple of early sessions OK, then the rest were recorded with the camera zoomed onto the front right cycle wing..
Pete will get some video up on youtube in the next couple of days, I expect.
And a few pics..
Look at that weather!
And on the way home, we had this..

Some nice pics there Andy. Glad the weather held out for you.

Phil
Thanks Phil, we were extremely fortunate with the weather I reckon.
Anyway, Pete has put a few video clips together. Taken from early on in the day, so not quite up to speed.. excuses, excuses...

Rockingham video
Enjoy.
Just found this video HERE . Monster 500bhp Audi up me chuff! (Was stuck behind Saxo with no
mirrors!
)

That Audi looks awful in the corners, torque steer
,he's having to hold on to the steering wheel with two hands, gripping it for dear life
.The
track is set out different to the one's Ive driven in the pass, looks quite a bit shorter,we drove what they call the international long, you get
a bit more of the twisty stuff, and another 1/2 mile of the banking, that seven with the number 6 on the back took a interesting line towards the end of
the video, credit to him though,he kept his foot planted, even over the grass
Paul. the Audi looked hellish quick in a straight line! bet it costs a fortune on brakes and tyres though..
That layout was "The international sportscar circuit". As I said, I really enjoyed the place, and looking at other videos from Rockingham,
I'd say any of the layouts would be good. Would definitely go back, it's a shame it's so pricey!
