Registration difficulties
pbura - 27/1/10 at 06:30 PM

Would like to bring to admins' attention that would-be registrants are having some difficulty. Is it true that a phone call is needed to register?

Thanks for the help Fozzie, I'm registered now. Will start trying to learn British It's embarrassing how few of us can speak other languages here in the Sates. I do have my spell checker set to British now...

Fozzie - 28/1/10 at 07:13 PM

Welcome Horizen .....

Brilliant to see you, and glad our (ChrisW and me) manic working behind the scenes has sorted out the problem!

I hope to see a few more of the guys from locost USA here soon

Please have a good browse around, we have an excellent users photo archive to look through too.

We are a very friendly bunch (honest) and any questions about the site, please ask away or u2u (PM)...

We are pretty much global, and the excellent English of some of our overseas members, puts some of us 'native' speakers/writers to shame.

We already have quite a few North American members here (USA and Canada), so please don't worry, we are used to the terms such as 'fenders' and 'hoods' .... LOL

Again, welcome, enjoy reading and looking at the posts and photos .... we are here to help....

Well im finally in after creating the fuss! It is fun however to read the british humor. Its like when i read it i have to imagine the accent just to make it funny.

I see all the sections, but you guys/gals dont really have any build sections do you? Basically for people to create a log of their progress?

Fozzie - 29/1/10 at 10:59 PM

Hi Blue Devil ... and welcome!

A lot of people do have blogs and their own build websites, they are usually indicated as links in their 'footers'......but not hosted on this forum.

With over 22,000 registered members, a 'blog' type section would potentially be way too overwhelming.

I think we tend to post in the section we are doing at any given point, for example, chassis, electrics, engine et al .....

Just off the top of my head, have a search for a post from Hellfire, at the bottom of the post you will see a clickable link, and a www link which will take you to their website where they have a very good build diary (x2...rebuild), and also flak monkey where on his footer you will also find a link to his build diary.....he is currently doing a Duratec install where he had a Pinto (I think) before......there is also a 'sticky' of his in the Engine and Transmission section

Fozzie

Both are very much worth a read
