Well this is day 4 and 50 hours in...
Im leaving the back end of for a few weaks due to lack of space while I play with engine position...
Talking of engine position....If I offset the engine 25-30 mm into passanger footwell do I do the same with the gearbox or leave it centeral thus
scewing the engine ??
Any help on this would be greatfully received....
many thanks warren
Can't speak on a locost, but Sylvas have the engine and gearbox skewed slightly towards the passenger side.
No sorry, but is the bottom of your chassis flat or your patio falling?
Pat...
patio slopes for rain to run of..
I think it's ok to move as long as the g/box output is square to the dif flange.
Something to do with u/j's wearing out.
Move it over square rather than skew it. (not 100% sure on this)

Isn't slight misalignment better so the prop UJ's don't wear out?
Pat...
Propshaft flanges should be parallel, but not in line with each other. Move the engine and gearbox together.
Moved mine over 30 mm (to give more foot well space), but had to scew it a little otherwise the gearlever is not in the middle of the tunnel.
My engine is very far back. Just enough clearence to get the bell housing to engine bolts out. Better weight distribution, my rediator sits inside my
chassis and I could use standard plunbing.
Hoped for a bit more help but still
.Decided on 19mm offset for motor and box and have started shifting a few tubes to allow for it....
Many thanks.
Almost forgot...How did you bend the square box section for your back-top rail please Kango..
you can kinda see from this one how offset my engine is

my engine is offset quite a bit, check my archive.
Ned.
Look in my archive "Radiator Location" how far back I managed to move mt Engine. Had to move the 2 tubes near the bell housing.
cheers peeps
Im confident 19mm will give room .....
