Hi all,

I was out in the car yesterday I noticed my temp gauge was very erratic (digital gauge)
It would rise up to 115 and then drop down to 90+ after a brief rev of engine,I drove a little further and had to pull over due to steam from under bonnet,Anyway I fired car back up and drove home again,When I got back I checked oil cap and it had went white(sludge).

The car was going good,not missing etc !!
Is this likely to be head gasket failure ??

Engine is a ZZR 1100

I had just changed oil day before and the old oil was fine,I have checked for oil in cooling system but all seems well there,I'm wondering if there is a possability that the water pump could cause this ???

Sounds like head gasket for sure, simple fix as long as there is no residual damage.
