........has stopped working. Have got the sensor out and its looking a little worn having run it a little to close to the prop bolts. Could this have caused it to fail? Any ideas?
Speed sensors are comprised of a magnet and a coil. Impact damage will not have done it any favours...
I think....
Ill take it to the local Suzi dealers and see if they'll test it for me. Only need a 10k resistor and I could test it....but I dont have one!
ETA it is still magnetic but more then that I cant tell!

Got hold of another sensor and fitted it this morning. Speedo still appears to be dead..... any ideas anyone??
Ian, how you doing
I had exactly the same issue yesterday on my R1, my gear indicator also stopped working.
I disconnected all the connectors to the speedo healer and cleaned them all out and sprayed with WD40 - all working now, hopefully just something
simple like that
Cheers bud, Ill try that.
Interesting to note that the gear indicator works, (didnt with the sensor disconnected), but speedo dosent. Ill check the connections for the
healer.........Hope it is that simple to be honest! Only other things it can be are a broken wire in the loom somewhere or the speedo itself has gone
t!ts up.....
