Can any one help?

Would anybody know the year of manufacture for my Fazer engine, if I was to give you the engine number?
Need it for the SVA form.

Thanks,
Leigh.

Hi there

Not sure what a Fazer is but if it has a Haynes manual for the vehicle it may stipulate the year of the vheicle for a set Engine Number Range.

You should be able to find it in the relevant Haynes manual.

However, if it's not pre 1995 then I don't think it really matters as they will give it a full cat test anyway so you might as well make it up. If you need to prove it is pre 95 then you will most likely need a letter from Yamaha.

Pritty sure it's not pre 95 and was expecting to use a cat, so what do you think? just guess the year. Will I not be any worse off?

At my last SVA the inspector said that if I couldn't prove they age of the engine it would be tested to the current levels. I would say they are unlikely to ask for proof of age of a post 1995 engine so you may as well have an educated guess

Just call Yamaha, and give them your engine number, they can look it up in their database and give you the framenumber and the year it was build.

I did it for my zx9r and recieved an official note from kawasaki stating the chassis number and when it was build, that should be fine for SVA
