R1 injection and emmissions?
nitram38 - 6/11/06 at 01:14 PM

It has probably been asked before, but I recieved my R1 injected engine from yorkshire engines today (nice condition malc, cheers) and I am after finding out what you guys have used in the way of the exhaust.
Have you just used a cat or do I need to modify anything else to allow it to pass sva emmissions?

You do need a cat. I'm told that later R1s have a small cat in the can but is isn't usually enough to meet SVA car emissions.

You may need a power comander to adjust the fueling / timing for SVA. You'll probably need this if you are not using the stock exhaust and intake / airbox. I guess that if you are using the standard can and airbox then you might get through with just the extra cat.

Martin
Try asking Martin at MK, I'm sure he told me they use a CAT & Lambda sensor, but with some sort of air bleed system to control the mixture for SVA/MoT. I think this works ok because bike engines always tend to run slightly rich - saves holy pistons
I'm sure there is a proprietory air bleed system available, or there was, but don't know the manufacturer.

Hi.

Mine got away with a PC III USB and the right map.

I got an MNR Road exhaust with CAT and a pipercross intake.

Any chance of letting me have the Map?
I guess I will be going the commander route and getting the cat as close to the manifold as possible.
My car will be rear engined, so the cat position should not be to much of a problem.
