R1 sandwich plate
hearnia - 16/3/07 at 02:20 PM

I'm trying to source all the bits I need for this turbo conversion I'm doing, but cant find anywhere that has a thread description for my 4XV R1.

Does anyone know the filter thread sizes so I can get the right sandwich plate?

Cheers

Joe

I think its M20 x 1.5 but Im not certain on that. Speak to Matthew at Think Automotive though as they supplied my remote take-off place and all I told them was that I had an R1.

There is also very limited clearance outside the diameter of the filter, so I think they will supply a smaller sandwich plate to avoid clearance issues.

Richard Miles's website would be worth a look through too, as I think he mentions the requird parts on there.

I can't remember how, but I had to cut a bit of my (also Think Auto) sandwich plate as I was having some oil escaping...
The take off plate has 2 connections (temp and presure)

If I'm going to run a front mounted oil cooler would it be possible to remove the standard oil/water cooler/heater from the engine?

Its not worth the hassle IMHO, although you dont have to plumb in the coolant if you dont want to.
