Hi i feel a bit cheeky asking this but would anyone near surrey be able to take myself and my dad out in a R1 or similar BEC? Its the last thing to
consider on buying our kit car and so far has been the hardest choice holding us back from putting the deposit down. Having only ever owned and worked
on car engined vehicles, we are slightly dubious about its day to day usability and torque, and need to be turned to the BEC way
Any offers are greatly appreciated
Adam
If mine was on the road Id be happy to take you out, but its not likely to be back on the road until next summer now unfortunately.
Ask on the Yahoo list as well (link below) if you don't have any luck.
cheers
Chris
Whereabouts in Surrey are you?
desyboy on here has an MK R1 and i have been out in it. It's damn fast and a great car. Where abouts in Surrey are you?

I live in warlingham and desyboy lives in selsdon. I'll ask him if he will let you have a look. His car is having it's diff and prop shaft replaced at the moment.
Plenty of R1 engines to choose from....

Come along to the Plough in Bletchingley on 1st Friday of the month and there are usually a couple of bike engined Sylvas there (Fury, Striker, my old
R1 engined Phoenix). I am sure someone will take you out.
My new car is in build (R1 Fury). This one will have a screen to make it a bit more practical but saying that I ran my R1 Phoenix for 4 years and
travelled all over the UK and France in it (woolly hat & ballistic goggles).

Also us local kit car builders meet up at Newlands Corner near Guildford on the 1st Sunday of each month. If you want to go next month (Sun 7th Oct) then you can come round my house and i'll drive so you know in future where to go. I 'should' be going but if not i'll let you know.
