Think I just got a bargain

As I'm early on with my build, what I use for parts is still quite flexible. I bought a blade engine, only to find out it was a restricted french import, so I've been keeping my eyes open. Just bought a complete 2002 blackkbird engine with rad, oil cooler, downpipes, loom, throttle bodies etc (no ecu) for £560. Blade kit for sale.

Are going to dry sump it or take it carefully round corners?

To be honest unless you track-day it a Blackbird engine should be okay..... They do have a tendency for going pop when driven hard on the track though (apparantly oil flow to bearing no 3 is a bit optional)....

Best idea is to take no.3 piston & rod out b4 you start, saves loads of trouble later on!!

LOL

Is that what you call preventative maintainance?

Use an Accusump on it. Should be ok for road blasting.

on the blade im pretty sure thers just a loop on two pins for the ecu, cut it and its full power

Cheers for the replies. Its only going to be a road car, so do i really need an accusump or baffle.

INDY BIRD - 8/12/07 at 09:46 PM

Baffle for sure and run 10% more oil should be fine for the road.

Fit oil pressure guage thats visible if you get fluctuations just fit an accusump 4 pint i had no probs on track or road,

Keep the sump as deep as possible and if modifiying it put in some trap doors to stop oil surging in the sump,

Should be ok then,
