jonah - 24/9/08 at 10:23 PM

Hi guys,

I've been fitting the dry sump to the engine tonight but can't make out from the powertec info sheet what pipe goes where. Has anybody fitted one lately? who still has their distructions?

Thanks

Marc

Is the Powertec sump the same as the Nova one?

If it is I have pictures and the basic fag packet drawing that came with it. Ill post them if they are any use.

Nova make the Powertec stuff but the sumps are different.

Powertec is deeper / pocketed and possibly has ports in different places.

Pump is the same

I have the nova instructions here. They are very vague but I'll send them if you need them. There is no mention of the baffle though if thats the problem.

One thing though, don't forget to take the oil restrictor out where the oil filter goes on if you are not using a oil cooler and fitting the Nova blanking plates..

That'll be great if somebody can send them over, what is the best to with the oil cooler, what do most people do?

Thanks all

Blank of the oil cooler outlet and put the cooler in the outlet pipe to the oil tank, but don't forget to remove the restrictor jet from behind the oil filter. It is pretty clear where the two baffles go (if you are using them) once you have the sump and clutch cover off. The baffle behind the clutch will go in without removing the clutch itself. Also when you put the replacement oil pick up in it is recommended that you drill and lockwire the bolts.

used a Laminova on mine and it seems to work perfectly.

Great questions as i will fit the same in a few weeks.

Another quetion thou, your fuel pump position? Are you planning on letting the pump suck fuel all the way from the tank to the position you have for the pump?

As far as i understand hi pressure pumpīs need to sit close to tank...Bad sucker, good pusher.
