This could be a cheap engine and cog box

Just stumbled across this while looking for somthing for me.

dont think its a bad price esp if you sell everything you dont need

You could do very well out of that if you're wanting to go rotary, jus so long as the engine's OK & the diff aint been damaged with the suspension being pushed over.

tongue in cheek,.. fuel pump capability. Friends RX8 turns in less than 20mpg, and uses pleanty of oil....

nice idea, but I guess that the sealing arrangement wears out making it less efficient and oil thirsty

the reason why they use oil is because the engine injects oil into the rota/combustion to give extra lube to the apex seals, it was designed in this way

Wankle is a 2 stroke engine (when all's said and done and the Brochure babble is swept aside)
It ...Needs... oil in the fuel to stay alive.. For a while :-) Which adds to the typ 2 stroke heavy fuel use.
Odd thing is, with all the necessary ancillaries attached, these are of similar weight to a piston engine.

They also aparently need the engine rebuilding and the 'wankle tips' replacing every 50-60k so might be worth finding out if it has had this done or could be expensive.

Yes ditch the rotary and put an LSx V8 in there as they have become popular in the US with the major swap parts available in kits. Improves the MPG and lengthens the service intervals. For my RX7 the twin turbo gubbins, emmision control bits & auto box meant the 13B rotary weigh about the same as my LS1. The Renesis may be a bit lighter though being NA.

Great chassis though assuming there's not too much hidden damage.
