Morning all
Just organised my retest at Shrewsbury over the phone for this Wednesday.
Can't panic this time apart from the what if I break down on route scenario as the AA etc won't touch you with a barge pole as the car
hasn't a tax disc.
Still looking forward to the retest and hopefully this time I'll get my hands on the treasured MAC certificate.
Let you know how I get on Wednesday.
Cheers
Nigel
All the best!
How did you manage to sort out the emissions? You were running the car inside the garage iirc? And did you have a mobile test apparatus to measure the
emissions?
good luck, wrap up well...
I was lucky with getting the emissions sorted. firstly it was bone dry so the car was outside.
Secondly I found a mobile tuning guy who came to the house with all the kit and got the emissions down from 4.68% to 1.5%!! at one point it was 0.9%
but it was idling slightly lumpy so he put it back up to 1.5.
Really nice bloke, very good new his stuff and was reasonably priced too.
Nigel
Nigel,
Who was the local mobile guy?
Cheers

His name is Dave his mobile number is 07713 081612
He did mention that he only covers a certain radius, so it would be wise to call and check. He charged £50 for the first hour then it's a
reduced rate after that.
Seems a lot but when you factor in insurance for the dat and then the garage charge to do the same it worked out really good value.

BOL, Nigel.
Providing you've covered the list it should sail through.
Seemed as if my tester was going out of his way to make sure it passed the re-test.
Cost me about the same to sort out my emissions so it's about the going rate.
It'll be DVLA next and then the open road - weather permitting!
Cheers, Pewe
Good luck. Wrap up warm!
I always found 1.5% to be about as low as you could dependably run them. Less effects the idle too much.

Good Luck Nigel - should sail through this time
Look forward to an "SVA PASS" thread Wednesday pm
Good luck
hoping to be there early next year but well have to wait and see.
Good luck
Hope the weather clears up for you
Good luck ! I'm sure you'll be OK
My prop busted on the way back from my SVA - luckily my insurance had recovery with it and there was no problem in getting towed home
Good Luck mate, fingers crossed for you.......
Not that you'll need it....
John
GOOD LUCK

Thanks all for the vote of confidence. I'll let you know how things go.
Hopefully tomorrow there'll be a post with a photo of me proudly clutching a MAC.
Those of you with a nervous disposition may want to avoid viewing as I'm butt ugly
Very quite ???
The tension is getting to much for me, I think I'll have to go the pub for a pint, bugger work tonight nobody reads newspapers anyway
Tony
He kept us waiting till the next day after the first test.
He might have passed and then "got lost" on the way home!
