no, just needs to be a reflector though I think they'd object to tape being used and I’m sure it has to be 90 degs to the road

I do believe though they need to be round? as triangular ones are for trailers.

Must be red and retro-reflective (lots of little prisms). Don't have to be e-marked but if not should have similar properties (you might have to prove). Don't have to be round. Mine are/were oval and plenty have rectangular ones. Can't be triangular though.

Also don't have to be 90 degrees to road, but although there is no actual specification I was once failed on a set that were about 45 degrees to road & deemed not reflective enough. There are also maximum measurements from the outside, I had another fail on them being 25mm over this amount.
