I wish we had stickies.
This is one of the commonest questions posted.
I'm begining to get bored answering these, which is not what this forum is about.
It would also help if people used the SEARCH function a little more!
3 years and don't let them tell you different
Why not tax online that will show what "the system" thinks

My car had its first MOT in December. It was 3 years old. It is on a Q plate and they did a visible smoke test.
Its 3 years.
My first tax was 6 months. When car was 6 months old i tried to tax on-line however was kicked out as computer was asking for MOT. As i still had
local DVLA number, i called them up. They asked me to send V% back in with cheque for tax. I got tax 2 days later, V5 was sent off to Swansea as they
had coded it wrong. Twice later i taxed online no probs.
Next one i went to PO to tax car. Lassy behind counter asked for MOT, had to do some explaining, blank looks etc. Mr Mango was with me, he opened
door, showed her the car outside which confused her even more and she gave me the disc to get rid of us
So - defo 3 years but there is chance Swansea could have naffed up the paperwork.
