DVLA inspection.

Go to local office with MAC, MOT, insurance, a few receipts and lots of money.

They'll provide the relevant forms and arrange an inspection.

If you have one! My local office (Peterborough) insist it's a requirement. It isn't really.

Get a V55 form from DVLA fill it in and send/take it to the local office with the stuff listed at the end of the form. MOT is not required and not on the list.

jesus, do NOT GET AN MOT

iiyama - 5/5/09 at 07:52 PM

ok guys, thanks for that. Im guessing that I dont need an MOT then

StevieB - 5/5/09 at 08:31 PM

You don;t need an MOT for the first 3 years like any new car, but if you get one done your car will be put into the computer database and will come up as not having one should Plod ever do a random check.

Is that right? No MOT required for 3 years?? When did that start?

Why would a police check show up as no MOT if you get one done inside the first 3 years?

Valtra - 5/5/09 at 10:09 PM

sall due to computers innit...I used Peterborough and no mention of mot to me for registration (though he did say it would need one after a year ....which I was put firmly straight on this forum )

Hi all, I need a little help with the reg docs.

I got my MAC on thursday, Just need to start the registration process now.

From following THIS GUIDE
I've filled out the v55/5, the v627/1 and I have Insurance cert in the post, copy of drivers licence, Payment for £180, the ORIGINAL MAC, a copy of the donor v5 and a copy of some reciepts.

My question's are
Does this lot have to be taken to the DVLA by hand or can I post it?
If I can post it then whats the address?
Also who do I make the payment out to?
Shall I write just 1 cheque or 2? 1 for reg fees and one for tax?

Many thanks
Mark.

You can do either. Personally think it's better to take it in by hand,

Look up your local DVLA office on the DVLA web site.

Also who do I make the payment out to?

DVLA.

Shall I write just 1 cheque or 2? 1 for reg fees and one for tax?

One.
