Just checking wiring functions pre IVA and:-

The rear fog works only when the headlights, dipped or main, are on, as per book, but I have it so the ignition has to be on as well, just re-read the IVA spec and it seems to say whenever the headlights are on the foglight should able to be on. Anybody got any idea what the rules are> On our tintop the headlights only come on with ignition on so can't use that as a test!

fog needs to be able to switch on with main or dip but not just side. Side needs to be able to turn on with or with out ignition on. Dip and main just with ignition on.

Thats how I read it.

Don't get hung up on this. The IVA regs state that the fog must only come on if main or dip are on. The regs say nothing about ignition either on or off - so it doesn't matter. As long as it can't be switched on when the headlights are off - you are complying.
