DVLA inspection today
Northy - 15/7/04 at 10:03 AM

Had my DVLA inspection today. Looks like I'll get an age related plate.

He was a little confused about the Vauxhall engine coming from the Sierra but I managed to blag my way out of that one

He said the paperwork should be waiting for me at the DVLA office, and if I pass on the day just pop over and get my registration number and tax!

Who said it was grim up North?

Cheers

So there should be another car at the Ackworth meet next month then! Look forward to seeing it - good luck for the SVA test.

I would have liked to have gone to the meet last night, but I have a bit of a deadline!

I'll try and be there next time.

DVLA man called today. Visiting in 2 f@cking weeks.................what a pile of crap.

Graham you will be on the road before me!!!

Why the delay? Offer to take it to him.

Maybe out of hours if you have to. Offer him 20 quid to saty late one evening...

...whatever it takes!

Good luck,

James

I waited two months for a chassis inspection, the local inspector was ill apparently, eventually I told them I would take the car to them and trailered it to the local office.
The inspector was away on a course he had forgotten about when he made the appointment, eventually another chap said that he would do the inspection but had never done one before.
He looked at the car asked me what the donor was etc and issued me with a vin no.
All it proved to them was that the car actually existed.

Try the old "I would like to speak to your manager" bit and keep going up the tree, always works because at some point someone works out that a two week wait is not right, you are their customer! As I get older I get more and more pi**ed off with goverment departments taking my money and giving a cr*p service.
